Should I put a QR code on my mailing?
A QR code gives you a signal that someone picked the piece up and scanned it, by neighborhood and by day. It is useful. Just be clear about what it measures: a scan is a scan, not a sale.
L&B policy
A scan is a signal, not a customer. We report scans as scans and never present them as responses, leads or sales — what a scan was worth depends on what happened next, which only you can tell us.
To make it work
- Point it somewhere useful — the offer, not your homepage.
- Tell people why to scan. A bare code gets ignored.
- Keep the destination working. A printed code cannot be changed later.
Not everyone scans, and plenty of people will call or walk in instead. A quiet QR report does not mean a quiet campaign — ask new customers how they heard about you.
