What is a carrier route?
A carrier route is the set of addresses one USPS letter carrier delivers to in a day — usually somewhere between 300 and 600 addresses. EDDM is sold by the route, so selecting a route means mailing every address on it.
Routes do not follow neighborhood names or town boundaries; they follow how USPS organises delivery. That is why a route can cover both sides of a street for six blocks and then stop somewhere that looks arbitrary on a map.
The route picker shows each route’s exact address count, so you always know how many pieces a selection costs before you commit.
How the site works
You can filter routes by median household income, age and household size. This filters WHICH ROUTES you mail — it does not filter households within a route. Every address on a selected route receives the piece.
