Billing, tax & payments

Why is there a surcharge on postage?

Postage is billed at cost — L&B makes nothing on it. Card processing still charges a percentage of it, so a small surcharge on the postage portion covers that rather than being absorbed into the print price.

On a large mailing postage can be most of the total, and card fees on a zero-margin pass-through would otherwise come out of the printing. Paying by bank debit avoids it.

We recommend

For a large mailing, bank debit is usually the cheaper way to pay.
